Sun Ho spreads love to China

THE Singapore Sun has spread her warmth in the rural areas of China.

S'porean singer Sun Ho with her arms around students of the primary school in Henan, towards which she contributed $70,000 for building a new 3-storey block with 16 more classrooms.
Local singer Sun Ho recently donated $70,000 to a rundown primary school in Sha Ping village in Henan Province, the China news website Sina.com reported.

This is the fourth school that she has helped, with contributions ranging from $40,000 to $70,000 per school, said her publicist, Ms Melissa Lam.

Earlier, she made donations to two schools in Chongqing and Guizhou, and sponsored a school computer laboratory in Liaoning.

Ms Lam said the total amount of the singer's donations comes to about $200,000.

The contributions are largely from Sun's album royalties. The singer has released five Chinese CDs since 2002.

Her latest album, Embrace, sold more than 100,000 copies in Taiwan earlier this year, said Ms Lam.

A magazine in China praised Sun's philanthropic efforts and labelled her 'Angel Of Love'.

Sun, who has a 2-year-old son, told The New Paper that helping less fortunate children is something close to her heart.

PASSIONATE

She said in a short interview through her publicist that she is 'especially passionate' about educating the young because she believes it is crucial to building the foundation of a successful life.

'Children born into situations of poverty are given the key to dream of a better future for themselves when they receive the knowledge and the better prospects that a good education brings,' she said.

Sun is now touring in the US and preparing for her new English album.

Her donation to the school in the Henan village has allowed it to build a new three-storey block with 16 classrooms, reported Sina.com. This means it can accommodate 800 more students, in addition to its current intake of 500.

The village is home to about 3,300 people, most of whom are poorly educated and earn about RMB$1,500 a year ($300).

To thank the big-hearted singer, the school has renamed its new building Yao Shan Hua Duo Primary, after Sun's Chinese name Hao Shan. Its students gave Sun a warm welcome when she visited during the official opening of the new building last month.

History of dance music...

Electronic dance music is a style of popular music commonly played in dance music nightclubs, radio stations, shows and raves. The term "dance music" is usually used for more commercial forms of electronic music. However, both dance music and electronic dance music is made electronically for dancing. Styles include Eurobeat, house, Eurodance, jungle, hip house, trance, techno, funk, garage, and many others. Associated with dance music are usually commercial forms that may not easily be pigeonholed, for example "The Power" by Snap! and "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" by C+C Music Factory. Those tracks are characterized by mixing dance music and hip hop. The chorus usually derives from disco music, the music itself consists mainly of danceable hip hop beats.

Electronic dance music experienced a boom after the proliferation of personal computers in the 1980s, many music genres that made use of electronic instruments developed into contemporary styles mainly due to the MIDI protocol, which enabled computers, synthesizers, sound cards, samplers and drum machines to control one another and achieve the full synchronization of sounds. Electronic dance music is typically composed using computers and synthesizers, and rarely has any physical instruments. Instead, this is replaced by digital or electronic sounds, with a 4/4 beat. Dance music typically ranges from 120bpm, up to 200bpm, with techno, trance, and house being the most widespread. Many producers of this kind of music however, such as Darren Tate and MJ Cole, were trained in classical music before they moved into the electronic medium.

Special Olympics theme song lyrics

<<世界有你有我>>歌詞

I know I can,你的微笑我看到

I know I can,你的奔跑我驕傲

親愛的盡情歌唱,今天你是super star

親愛的盡情飛翔,這里就是奇跡的地方

向藍天揮手,與太陽擁抱,面對著大海呼喊我自豪

I know I can,,世界有你有我,真好

I know I can,我的微笑你看到

I know I can,我的奔跑你驕傲

Oh my dear盡情歌唱,今天你是super star

Oh my dear盡情飛翔,這里就是奇跡的地方

向藍天揮手,與太陽擁抱,面對著大海呼喊我自豪

I know I can,世界有你有我,真好

Its really inspiring and encouraging. The lyric give me a sense of hope that I can do it no matter what I know I can!!

Sun With Wyclef Jean

Born in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti as Andrew Taylor, he was renamed Wyclef Jean by his adoptive father. His father was a pastor and re-named him after John Wycliffe. He moved with his family to Brooklyn, New York when he was nine, then to northern New Jersey, where he began playing the guitar and studying jazz in high school. At 14, Jean was shot.
As a young adult, Jean worked as a cabdriver. In 1987, Jean, his friend Prakazrel Michel (whom Jean has called his cousin), and his classmate Lauryn Hill formed a hip hop group called the Tranzlator Crew before becoming The Fugees.
